The fact that certain applications have been found to be not compatible with certain devices became an issue for quite some time. Most issues point to how applications affect the device’s battery and it is assumed that maybe because a certain device does not comply with certain requirements.
If you read through the comments portion of a particular application, you will notice that the app works perfectly in some devices while it is a battery drainer for some. Knowing this, we can safely assume that there are compatibility issues but this problem can’t be determined unless you actually try the app out. There’s no harm if the app is a freeware but what if it is paid?
Good thing Google came up with this great idea of enabling the users to check the compatibility of their devices with certain applications. Now, you can check through Google’s Android Marketplace device compatibility. But you should take note that this feature has only been added in its Web version.
To check compatibility, just sign-in to your Google account, open the online Android Marketplace and go to the app page. From there, a notice will show up just below the app’s install button informing you if your particular phone is actually compatible with the app.
If app developers may be able to block apps on certain devices that do not comply with certain requirements, the Android Marketplace’s Web version will actually show every single detail. Now, you will no longer waste time downloading incompatible apps to your phone nor accidentally pay for them because of Google’s device compatibility creation.

This is a great feature from Google. However, what a pity it is only available for Web version. Hope they will have more developments in next time.
